How many Kybella® treatments will I need?
Most patients require 2-4 treatment sessions spaced at least one month apart. The exact number depends on the amount of submental fat and your aesthetic goals. Dr. Berens will create a personalized treatment plan during your consultation.
What should I expect after Kybella® treatment?
Swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness are common after Kybella® injections. Swelling is most significant in the first few days and gradually subsides over 2-4 weeks. Dr. Berens provides detailed aftercare instructions.
Are Kybella® results permanent?
Yes. Kybella® permanently destroys fat cells in the treated area. Once destroyed, these cells cannot store or accumulate fat. However, weight gain can affect untreated areas or remaining fat cells.
Is Kybella® painful?
The treatment area is numbed before injections to minimize discomfort. Some patients report a burning or stinging sensation during and after treatment. Ice and topical numbing cream are used to enhance comfort.
