A clearer starting point
Compare Aesthetic Treatments in Plantation
Start with the concern you want assessed, then compare the available approaches with Abram Berens, MD. This guide explains broad treatment categories and questions to bring to a consultation at NuLook4U.
BOTOX, Dysport or a dermal filler?
Botulinum toxin products and dermal fillers address different concerns. The FDA describes botulinum toxin products as drugs that reduce muscle tightening; fillers are injected materials used to create a smoother or fuller appearance. Product approvals are specific to the treatment and area.
| Option | Category | What to discuss |
|---|---|---|
| BOTOX Cosmetic | Botulinum toxin | Expression lines, proposed areas and dose, product labeling and follow-up. |
| Dysport | Botulinum toxin | Why this product fits your goals, previous treatment and the complete treatment fee. |
| Juvéderm and Restylane | Hyaluronic acid fillers | The particular product, quantity, area, alternatives and potential complications. |
| Radiesse | Calcium hydroxylapatite filler | Product-specific uses, material differences and the proposed treatment plan. |
Fillers have risks, including rare serious complications from injection into a blood vessel. Toxin products also have important warnings. Discuss current patient labeling and your medical history before choosing a procedure. Read the FDA comparison and safety information.
Comparing filler brands
A brand name alone does not identify the specific product or an appropriate plan for your face. Ask Dr. Berens to name the proposed product and quantity, explain the treatment area and compare alternatives. Review the dermal filler overview and lip enhancement page before your appointment.
Chemical peel or microdermabrasion?
Chemical peels
Peels use a chemical solution. The treatment depth affects preparation and recovery. Ask which peel is proposed, how your skin characteristics affect suitability and how much peeling or recovery to plan for.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion exfoliates the skin surface. Ask how it fits your concern, whether multiple visits are proposed and which aftercare instructions apply. Temporary redness or swelling can occur.
Where do IPL and resurfacing fit?
IPL and laser resurfacing are additional topics to discuss when planning skin care. Ask which device and approach are proposed, what concern is being assessed, which alternatives exist and how recovery requirements compare. The skin rejuvenation overview connects these services.
Compare the complete plan and cost
Before comparing prices, establish the exact product or device, treatment area, quantity or number of visits and what follow-up is included. A lower advertised unit or session price does not describe the full plan.
- Ask whether consultation, treatment, medication, aftercare products and follow-up have separate fees.
- Request an itemized estimate for the proposed course, including likely repeat visits.
- Discuss how the practice assesses progress before further treatment.
- Allow time for recovery before an important event; confirm the schedule with the physician.
